In response to the safety notice for 3,450 Beko condenser tumble dryers, Emma Drackford, of Electrical Safety First commented:

“We urge anyone who owns a Beko or Blomberg 8kg and 9kg condenser tumble dryer to visit the Beko website to check whether their model is affected. This safety notice has been issued because of a fire risk and Beko has correctly advised anyone who owns an affected machine to stop using it immediately.

“Our research shows that one third of consumers said that they would continue to use a large appliance, even after it had been recalled[i]. This is too big a risk to take. It is vital that consumers take Beko’s advice by checking their tumble dryer and stop using their dryer if affected.”
