IKEA FEMTON Clamp Spot Light The following notice has been published in the national press:

IKEA recalls FEMTON clamp spot light FEMTON SPOT LIGHT article number 600.673.23

If you have bought a FEMTON clamp spot light IKEA kindly asks you to bring it back to the Exchange & Returns department of your local IKEA store where you will receive a full refund. The Swedish National Electricity Safety Board has tested the spot light and claims the construction of the lamp could create a risk of over-heating.

IKEA has received no reports of incidents from customers involving over-heating of the FEMTON spot light.

FEMTON is a so called "goose-neck" lamp with a flexible stem that allows the beam to be directed at will. Tests have shown a variation of the stiffness of the flexible stem meaning some lamps could be positioned with the bulb too dose to a surface area, such as a wall, shelf or table top, which could result in over-heating. This is of course not acceptable and immediate measures have been implemented to secure future deliveries. No other lamps are affected.
