Job Title: Head of Policy and Public Affairs
Location: Flexible (with regular attendance at London HQ required)
The Head of Policy and Public Affairs will lead the advocacy and influencing strategy of the Charity, furthering the voice of the Charity on matters related to electrical safety.
You will have a range of responsibilities, including the development of the Charity’s advocacy efforts, the execution of its policy and influencing strategy, and responsibility for ensuring that our policy positions are always supported by high quality research and robust evidence.
We’re looking for someone with extensive policy and public affairs experience. A strategic thinker, effective networker, and influencer, with a track record in developing, managing, and delivering successful influencing campaigns.
Working with the CEO and Senior Management Team you’ll need to be aware of all the legislation we are seeking to influence, for example with the Building Safety Bill, which is high on the agenda currently. You’ll develop clear policy which is articulated and shared across the organisation as well as review and refresh the policy to ensure it stays relevant in this dynamic environment. It is important that you have a handle on the approaches, plans and variations in policy across the UK nations.
You’ll set the tone for our approach as well as build and manage relationships with external stakeholders. Our approach is collaborative so that we can play a key role in ensuring electricity is used safely across society.
You’ll manage a team and have the influence to develop a clear strategy that is aligned with the overall direction of the organisation.
