I am a private tenant and my house has recently been rewired. I do not believe that the electrics are safe. Who can come and check this if my landlord is satisfied?

Your landlord should provide you with a copy of the Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) for the rewire. If you have concerns, you should flag these with your landlord first and if they will not do anything, you should speak to your local authority.

A rewire should be carried out by a registered electrician so if there are concerns about the standard of work, your landlord can report the problem to their scheme operator who will then investigate and take any necessary action.
