If I let out one room in my house do I have to get an EICR? Also do I have to have smoke alarms fitted?

We would still strongly recommend that you have an EICR carried out by a registered electrician and that you fit smoke alarms to keep both yourself and your tenant safe.

You can find an electrician local to you here.
