The landlord is responsible for any appliances that are provided as part of the rental agreement and the tenant for any that they bring into the property

Answered by Sarah, Electrical Safety Expert

The landlord is responsible for any appliances that are provided as part of the rental agreement and the tenant for any that they bring into the property. However, if the electrics are tripping, the landlord should have this investigated to confirm that the problem is not with the electrical installation.

You can find a registered electrician local to you here.

Make sure that all of the appliances in the property are registered with the manufacturer so that if there is a problem they are able to contact you. Find out more here.
