Is it a legal requirement to raise existing sockets above skirting level if they are in good condition, in a private rental property?

Left double quote

For existing sockets the height needs to be no worse than previous but if the sockets are in the skirting board then it presents issues for plugging in some appliances in which case we would suggest raising them

Part M of the Building Regulations requires that sockets are installed between 450mm and 1200mm above floor level. For new installations, sockets need to be installed at least 450mm up from the floor level of a room.
