Is it possible to check if an EIC given after a domestic property has been rewired is legitimate?

The best way to check this is to ensure whether the electrician is registered with one of the competent persons schemes.

You can access the component persons register here.

Alternatively you can check with the scheme provider.

The logo of the scheme provider (e.g. NICEIC or NAPIT) should be on the EIC.
