What can I do if electrical work carried out in my home turns out to be dangerous?

We always recommend that you use a registered electrician for any work in your home. This gives you the peace of mind that if something does go wrong, the work is insured and their scheme operator can help you if you are not satisfied. You can find an electrician local to you here.

If you are not satisfied with the work that an electrician has carried out, you should try to get them to put it right but if they refuse then refer it to the scheme operator with which they are registered.

If you have used an unregistered electrician for the work then you can take it up with Citizens Advice and they should be able to help you.
