All private landlords must have checks carried out on the electrical installation in their rental properties every five years (this was introduced in June 2020).  We recommend this is carried out by a registered electrician. They will then issue an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). Any problems identified in the report must be addressed within 28 days and a copy of the report given to the tenant.

If your landlord has not given you a copy then you should ask them for one.
