An epilator is an easy way to remove unwanted body hair and leave skin looking smooth - plus, they’re easy to use! But like all electrical appliances, they come with safety risks.
Epilator Safety
- Make sure you buy your epilator from a reputable retailer, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
- It’s important to register a new epilator with the manufacturer so that you can be contacted if a safety notice or recall is required. - Any socket you plan to use to charge an epilator should have RCD (residual current device) protection. An RCD is a life-saving device that protects against dangerous electric shock and reduces the risk of electrical fires. If you don’t have RCD protection in your fuse box for your sockets, consider using an RCD plug to protect you and your property from serious appliance faults.
- Safe Use
- Only charge the epilator with the adaptor supplied.
- If you use the epilator in the bathroom, do not use an extension cord.
- If the epilator is damaged, stop using it and either get it repaired by the manufacturer or replace it.
- Don’t submerge the epilator or adaptor in water.
- Check that the voltage on the adaptor corresponds to the local mails voltage before you plug it in.
