Electrical Safety First and Scouts

What if learning about electrical safety felt like playtime with your best friends? That’s the idea behind our partnership with The Scout Association.

Together, Electrical Safety First and Scouts are helping young people build practical, life-long safety skills focusing initially on Cub Scouts aged between 8 1/2 - 10.

So why Scouts? Well, because it’s where young people already learn by doing. We've already heard how one cub spotted a potentially faulty kettle in their home - and given the Scouts believe we have already reached over 40,000 cubs, we're sure that this partnership is already making a real difference to safety up and down the country.

What this partnership achieves

By weaving electrical safety into a trusted programme built on teamwork, curiosity, and real-world skills, we can reach children in a way that sticks. Be prepared indeed!

The impact goes beyond the Scout meeting, too. Cubs take what they learn back home - sharing tips with parents, friends, and carers, thereby helping create safer households in the process.

What we are working on together

We’ve created a series of fun, game-like activities that bring electrical safety to life.

From spotting hazards at home to understanding how to use everyday devices safely, each activity is designed to be simple, memorable, and enjoyable.

Completing these six games helps you to earn your fire safety badge - giving Cubs a clear goal to work towards and something to be proud of earning.
