We recommend where possible to plug appliances directly into socket-outlets rather than via extension leads. However, we understand that this is not always possible. If you do decide to use an extension lead think about the power of the items being connected and connect the highest powered item directly to the socket outlet. I have added a link to our 'socket calculator' to help you decide which appliances are high powered. If you use extension leads on a regular basis you should consider having additional sockets fitted by a registered electrician, here is a link to help you find one in your area.
