Following the recently published report by consumer group, Which?, into the issues surrounding the private rental sector Phil Buckle, Chief Executive of Electrical Safety First commented:
“We welcome this recent report which further sheds light on the issues facing both tenants and landlords in the private rental sector. Electrical Safety First has been at the forefront of spearheading the campaign to introduce five yearly electrical safety checks for those in privately rented accommodation and we are delighted the Government has accepted our proposal. With the success of our campaign to introduce these checks our thoughts now turn to the implementation strategy the government will introduce to enforce electrical safety checks and we look forward to working with them closely to advice on this.”
