The product presents a serious risk of electric shock due to the transformer of the charger being of a poor internal build quality with insufficient creepage and clearances. As a result, over time the internal components may dislodge and move, allowing the product to short circuit. The plug also does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard, BS 1363, meaning the user may touch the live parts when plugging in, or unplugging, the plug from a socket.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
