The product presents a high risk of electric shock as it is inadequately earthed. The product can become live, exposing the user to an electric shock hazard should they touch accessible parts. The product’s plug was also noncompliant with the relevant standard, with pins closer to the periphery than permissible and sleeved parts dimensions differing from metal parts of the pins, creating a damage between the two and causing damage to the socket. The product’s fuse was also noncompliant. The product also requires improvements to markings, labelling and instructions.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
