The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it is inadequately earthed, which can allow accessible metal parts to become live under fault conditions. Additionally, the luminaire was fitted with a socket outlet so that up to four luminaires can be connected in a daisy-chain.
The socket was not protected with automatic shutters, which also allows access to live parts. If a user were to touch these parts when the product is live, they would receive an electric shock. The product also requires improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
